Kast Media

I created Kast Media in 2016.

We became the 9th-largest podcast network in the world. We launched the podcast careers of many of today's top 100 podcasts, who have gone on to sign deals worth tens-to-hundreds of millions. We built a powerful catalog of intellectual property, empowered and amplified fun, meaningful, and impactful conversations. From 2019 - 2022, we paid out creators more than $30M in ad revenue.

But then, when we failed, we ended up hurting Creators.

Now, we're on a mission to use the pain of our failure to show the industry a better way forward.

I wrote an Open Letter to the Creator Economy detailing my opinion of the reform needed.

Survivorship Bias

Survivorship Bias: the cognitive shortcut that occurs when a successful subgroup is mistaken as the entire group, due to the invisibility of the failure subgroup.

My new series, Survivorship Bias, will aim to take an unblinking, warts-and-all view of performance and process. To balance the survivorship bias inherent in our media and storytelling diet, and show the grind as it truly is.

Brand-Work

I work with major brands to manage creative and digital marketing campaigns. I honed my toolset on the creative side, launching powerhouse podcast brands like Impaulsive with Logan Paul, The Portal with Eric Weinstein, On Purpose with Jay Shetty, The Viall Files, The Sarah Silverman Podcast, The Opportunist, Vigilante, and many more.

Now, I also turn those skills to help brands create and scale impact.

Together, my team and I have executed strong top and bottom-of-funnel strategies, driving high ROI across campaigns.
